3D rendering. Ram vs CPU?

Hi guys,

I've recently started playing around with 3Ds Max. As I started learning more about Vray, Mental Ray, texturing, lighting e.t.c. my rendering speeds have become painfully long. I decided it's time for some computer upgrades but I have a dilemma. Both my CPU and Ram are pretty... slow. Here's what I'm working with at the moment:

ASUS M4a77TD Pro Mother board
AMD Athlon II X2 245 2.90 GHz
2x 1GB Crosair DDR3 Ram
ATI Radeon HD 4800 1GB

So my question is: what would be the best thing to upgrade for faster rendering speeds?

Ram is so cheap I would say both.
