GTX550 vs GTX560

After really breaking down the specs of both the 550 and 560, I'm not sure its really woth the extra $70-$80 for what I wanna do. I'm not using multiple monitors or anything crazy, I just want a solid card that I can play most games on high or relativley high graphic settings. Anybody have some good input here?

  1. What resolution if less than 1080P then the GTX550 would be sufficient, stick a GTX460 1GB in between those two and that might be the right card for you.
  2. I would suggest going with the 6850.It's faster than the GTX550ti and a little faster than the GTX460. It's also light on power. And price is good for the performance it provides. For future reference 6850 crossfire scales very good.

What are your full system specs?(CPU,RAM,etc.)

What is the make/model of your PSU?

That card is actually on sale so it's only available at that price for the weekend only.
  3. Im running an Intel E8400 on an EVGA Nforce 750i motherboard with 4GB OCZ Reaper RAM DDR2. Power supply is a Diablotek UL Series PSUL675 675W ATX 12V@52A v2.31 SLI Ready.
  4. 550 is a dog. Save your $$$
  5. The 550 is a horrible card. I have no idea why nvidia needs the two slot cooler on it. Go go Solitaire!

With a CPU like the E8400 you wouldn't really want more than a 6850 anyway because it would start to bottleneck.Although those CPU's are really good for O.C.ing.
I suggest you O.C. if you want.
