560 ti vs 580

My friend just put 2x ASUS 580s in SLI in his new build and I was comparing it to my 2x560ti SLI and I noticed my 560s had a higher core clock, 880MHz vs his 782MHz, and a higher memory clock, 4200MHz vs 4008MHz.

I understand the 580 is a higher level card but with the 560 ti having faster clocks I don't understand why the 580 is twice the price.

So my question is what makes the 580 a better card even though it has lower clocks?

A GTX580 has 512 cores versus the GTX560Ti's 384, more cores equals more graphical horsepower.

Ya friend has bragging rights ...he gets 10% more fps (953 vs 862).
You have more money in ya pocket, he paid 234 % more ($960 versus $410)
