Laptop wont complete post or boot at all after replacing lcd screen

I am working on a laptop for a friend and it wont complete the POST test or boot beyond a black screen....just starts up then shuts off I have replaced screens before and I am sure I am doing something wrong as the pc worked before. I have gone back and traced and retraced my steps. Please help!

I'm not up on laptops. But did you knock a component?

I'm guessing you short circuited something while installing the new screen. Did you take static discharge precautions?
