I'm about to purchase the ASRock Z77 Pro3 for my budget gaming build, however I want some feedback first. I was originally going to get an MSI B75A-G43 for $88, since I'm running an i3-2100, but the MSI sold out unfortunately.

There is a similar MSI H77A-G43 for $115, but the ASRock Z77 Pro3 is the same price... given that case, it would almost seem incredibly stupid to not go for a Z77 motherboard, even if my i3-2100 does not overclock.

So please give me your input on the Z77 Pro3 and let me know if I am good to go. What other benefits do I get from a Z77 chipset over a B75 / H77?

Z77 supports PCIE 3.0, and it will allow you to upgrade to ivybridge in the future. Also, all z77 boards have enhanced overclocking features in the BIOS taht you cant access normally without a z77 board.

I've given it a lot of thought, upgrading to the Z77 chipset. Here are my thoughts of the upgrade.

As it seems, there is support for 1600Mhz for RAM for my i3-2100, while the B75 limits to 1333Mhz... I know there is hardly any scaling in gaming performance, but it should help me a bit with my video-editing, and I can lower the CAS latency... and it gives me an excuse to go for the Corsair Vengeance dual channel kit :p

I have no idea if I will ever get an SSD or another HDD, which benefit from the Z77's SSD caching and RAID support... the B75 is fine for me... its just a bummer the damn thing is sold out.
