Hi,

My ASUS Sabertooth 990fx Rev. 2.0 BIOS has a Network Stack setting which, if enabled, has the option to enable a thing called ipv4/ipv6 PXE support. I have router that is ipv6 capable, what does the motherboard BIOS have to do with networking? Should I enable it and the PXE support?

Thanks for any help.

Bill

Are you booting your system through PXE from a server? That's very useful if no OS is installed locally.

For a home network it would be unusual to need PXE support. PXE support is more for thin clients that load an OS from a server, or for installing the OS from the server.

Thanks to both of you. I am on my home alone computer. I will not enable this.
