Hi there!

I'm new here, and with my first post i need you guys to help me with a wierd problem occurring to my two brand new sapphire hd6970 cards.

I filmed it, so i don't need to explain more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1DmwEHedtY

The first day i played some games there were no problems, even with CF enabled, but yesterday morning i got this strange screen tearing. For information, if i play games on windowed fullscreen all works fine.
I tried to run the cards separetly, without CF enabled with no problems nor tearing. So i suppose my cards are working fine!

I'm experiencing that issue only with CF enabled. I also tried to change cards slots without success.

Any ideas? I have 11.9 catalyst drivers installed, i use 1920x1200 screen resolution and my configuration is:

PC: Motherboard - Asus Rampage III Extreme ; CPU - Intel i7 930 D0 @ 4,2GHz Rock Solid Liquid cooled by Ybris ; VGA - 2x Sapphire Amd HD6970 Crossfire ; RAM - Corsair Dominator 6x2GB 1600Mhz 8-8-8-24 ; HDD - 3x WD VelociRaptor 150GB RAID0 & WD Caviar Green 1TB ; ALI - Corsair TW850HX ; CASE - CoolerMaster HAF932 ; Monitor - Samsung SyncMaster T240

Dead island, Orcs must die, Warhammer 40.000 space marine, Starcraft 2, League of legends, Diablo 3 beta.

For now, these are the games i tested!

Uh!

I tried now Rage. No problems with CF active.

Then I installed catalyst 11.10 beta 2, same problem with all the games i've listed, but Rage works flawlessly.

Damn, what a wierd thing. :(

Heh, I guess it's a driver issue then. If you want to, try running the unigine heaven 2.5 benchmark (http://unigine.com/products/heaven/download/). That works great with CF, so if you have a problem in that then something is wrong.

I noticed that i get the screen tearing only while a game uses both VGAs, according to afterburner.

Games that use only one card work perfectly in fullscreen mode.

Windowed games use only one card, that's why i get no problems.

I guess them are not broken, because if tested singly all works good.

It might be the monitor, not the gfx cards. If you have Fraps or something try recording part of a game where it's doing that, and play the clip to see if it comes up in the video capture.

Ok it's the monitor. I recorded unigine heaven benchmark in fullscreen and with CF enabled. No screen tearing.

Pff, so my monitor is fucked up? Maybe is the cable, because disabling CF all goes good.

Ok, i used an HDMI cable and now all works fine!

I assume that the DVI cable i was using is defective.

Thank you for the help, really really thank you. :)
