5.1 surround sound

So I am thinking of getting the Siberia V2s, and I was wondering how I would get 5.1/7.1 with these. Would I need to get something else? Or can I just plug them in to my sound card.

Well, as they are a stereo headset, you'd need a soundcard that can create a virtualized sound environment [typically either via Dolby Headphone or CMSS3D]. Most soundcards have the ability to do this now, but onboard typically doesn't.

Or use my sound card, which is the Creative X-fi Xtreme audio

Doesn't make much sense to use a USB soundcard to do virtualized surround, since you'll be crippled by its Digital to Analog converter.

I also note you won't get the best quality out of that headset using the ExtremeAudio, since its a VERY low end card; its really a re-branded Audigy 2 chipset, not a true X-fi.
