Question about thermal paste?

So, I'm buying an Intel i3 2120. My friend told me the stock fan's going to be okay since it can't be OC'ed, but I'm he told me to get thermal paste to reapply it onto the stock fan since the pre-applied thermal paste is terrible. Should I buy an extra tube of thermal paste or would I be fine? If so, do I need to wipe off the pre-applied thermal paste before reapplying the new one? What do I need to do afterwards?

It isn't that bad. You shouldn't even worry, the stock hsf paste is perfectly fine especially for the i3!
