Hello, I've been considering to upgrade my GPU and RAM of my 4 year old rig.

Mainboard: GA-EP35C-DS3R
CPU: E8400
GPU: GTS 250
RAM: 3x1gig twinmos ddr2 667 (lol)
PSU: TG480-U22 (480watt)
HDD: Seagate 250GB 7200 rpm

Now I've been away from hardware scene for a long while, so Im kind of lost.

Lucky me, the mobo has given me some room to maneuver (to upgrade on ddr3's), but since my 580watt psu has given up this summer, I switched to my old 480watt psu.

Now this is a 5 year old psu, but got little mileage (just left to rot - used 1,5 years at most). So my thought was going for GTX550/560TI (not even sure if the psu can handle it) and switching to 2x2 ddr3 1333 ram. I'm probably all wrong, so I'm looking for suggestions.

I plan to play SW:TOR with this rig, if that helps.

I would replace your psu before adding new gfx card, i think your current psu from quick search is not upto job.
I'd get a 560ti and leave ram for moment and get a nice 500-600w corsair, ocz, seasonic psu.

Well thanks for the answer. After doing a little bit of research myself I came to the conclusion of maybe buying a whole new system.

So, for now I can get the GPU and the new psu. But after my research, I started to think that e8400 might bottleneck the 560ti a lot?

Even if that's the case, after a few months I can switch mobo, cpu and ram too.
