No. Just be sure the seal on a motherboard or cpu package hasn't been opened, and buy all your components together so you can test them together and return them within the 30 day return window for any good vender.

Most places have a 30 day return if something is wrong, and most computer parts come with limited warranties already. AMD/Intel both provide a 3 year warranty for their processors for example, most things have at least a 1 year limited warranty from manufacturer.

Although bear in mind that if you OC a CPU, you'll probably void the warranty...Intel offer separate protection for overclockers.
