CPU to finish my build

Ok guys, here's what I have

Mobo: ASRock 970 Extreme3 AM3+ - £72
RAM: 8gb Patriot Signature (2x4gb) - £29
GPU: XFX HD6770 1gb - £72
PSU: FSP Bluestorm 500w 80+ Bronze - £35
Case: Xigmatek Asgard - £28

Re-using: HDD's, ODD, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse.

Still to buy: CPU, OS

Original budget was £350 which has stretched to £400 (as these things do) and I now have £165 left.
Take out the OS and I have £100 for CPU.

Original plan was Phenom 955 BE - £85
These are now north of £110 if you can find one.

So now I'm considering FX-4100 for £90.

The question is, should I go with the FX or does anyone have a better idea? Used is not an option.

I'm struggling with this. If the performance difference is small and price difference is big why buy the 955? The 955 is at least £20 more for small performance gain. Why would/should I do that?

Holy crap it does. Here they are about the same. Well, FX-4100 it is! Sorry about that, I was confused.
