Is anyone aware of a vidcap board that will do DivX (mpeg4)compression? If no one's making one, why don't us high-end users demand the manufacturers put out a product with flashable codecs for compression and decompression. That way we don't have to wait for new boards to come out once mpeg 7 becomes the standard. Personnally, I hate tying up my fast computer for hours while FlaskMPEG converts mpeg2 to DivX. Am I the only one out here who would pay a couple of hundred bucks more for a hardware compression/decompression solution?

Basicly there isn't one for two reasons, 1. DivX is a "rouge" format that doesn't have any support in businesses and other "serious" organizations, perhaps the privat marked isn't big enough or they fear losing any goodwill they have with MPAA and 2. It'll probably take time to implement in a chip, I doubt a simple flash upgrade would suffice to make it work, not to mention OSs and video capture/editing software would have to recognize the capabilities of the graphics card, which also would take time.
