Replaced 4x1gb ram with 4x2gbdual channel wont boot

Hello, I just tried to upgrade my ram from 4sticks of 1gb to 4 sticks of Corsair 2gb dual channel ram and messed up pc bad. finally recovered with old ram.
what could be the problem?
