Hello,

I am looking into purchasing a new, state of the art, 19 inch monitor to replace my older 17 inch. I dont feel that a 21 inch is worth nearly double the cost, not to mention the massive size.
I use my pc a LOT for games, internet surfing and some graphics work and word processing, so a top quality monitor is very important. I would appreciate any advice or recommendations on what you feel is the absolute highest quality 19inch crt monitor out there, price is not an issue. I am currently evaluating at the following models:

Sony CPD-G400
Samsung 900NF
Viewsonic PF795
NEC FP950
Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 900u

of these, what would you recommend? Is there anything else that I should be considering? Thanks, in advance for any assistance.

Sony's are the best out there, all my friends who do 3d graphics and animation have them, either that or a 18.1 in Flat screen

I have a Mitsubishi 900U. I wouldn't call it the best monitor but it has a built in USB hub that I find invaluable. I also have a Nokia 446Xpro and I like it for the same reason. I have no complaints about the image quality on either one.

You can find monitor reviews at <A HREF="http://www.pcmag.com" target="_new">http://www.pcmag.com</A> and <A HREF="http://www.pcworld.com" target="_new">http://www.pcworld.com</A>.

You might want to consider a IIYAMA. I have a 19" Vision Master Pro,crt Total Flat Screen. I bought it 2yrs ago when there were not many total flat screens around. Today you can get derivative upgraded models from IIYAMA for less. You will find find reviews of the Vision Master Pro and the new models at GAMERS DEPOT.com. Also go to the IIYAMA web site and they have links to reviews.

If you want to have even better image quality then look into someting from EIZO NANAO but expect to pay more.

The Sony is the best 19" monitor there is!

The Mitsubishi comes in second place, IMHO!
