Hello, i just encountered a very weird problem. I left my computer for about 5 minutes and it wasn't on heavy load, hot or anything.

I come back, sit down and then my computer turned itself off then back in and came up with screen saying "Last time windows did not shut down correctly, Start in safe mode, start windows normally etc..", it did this in about 2 seconds, i googled it and it seems no 1 had this problem that i could find, so i thought i just ask here, whats your thoughts, solutions? Do i have a problem? is it a part or windows or what? thanks!

my parts are:

asrock 970 extreme 3
saphhire amd radeon hd 7770
Powercool 750w psu
4 GB Ram
Amd phenom II X6

thanks guys!

Click start, then type in "Reliability and Performance Monitor" - you will see a red "x" on the reliability monitor tab for today - and this will give you the failure codes and the reason this happened.

i looked and it said there are no reports in this view, there was no red x for this day, only a couple of other days

It would be under monitoring tools > reliability monitor. All software, application, hardware, windows and miscellaneous failures should be indicated on this tab.

I had to switch computers....was on the old Vista Machine.

Look at Event Viewer - look for errors with a red exclamation point there.

"The previous system shutdown at 14:24:59 on ‎25/‎01/‎2013 was unexpected."

in Details it comes up with some random icons, i'm guessing its encrypted or some weird code language xD

Did it give a code like 0x00000050 (usually the last 3 digits are important for the error)?

Check your windows updates. I was looking up the codes, it looks to be related to the Visual C+ redistribution packages not being installed properly. If your computer is "up to date", check the history for failed installations.

only update i have is microsoft silverlight, says something about audio, video etc for internet browsers, might be that i guess
