MSI vs ASUS?

I'm debating between this: http://www.microcenter.com/product/401771/970A-G46_AM3_ATX_AMD_Motherboard

and this: http://www.microcenter.com/product/398235/M5A97_R20_Socket_AM3_ATX_AMD_Motherboard

I'm just wondering because the MSI board supports SLI AND Crossfire

while the ASUS seems to not.

Both of the boards are good. But the MSI board has more pcie x16 slots so it is kinda better since all other features are more or less the same.
Also there are numerous complaints about MSI against their motherboards.
