Considering to upgrade my graphics card

Hello.

I'm considering to upgrade my graphics card as my current one is getting outdated.

Current setup:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.50GHz
1024MB GeForce GT 220 (MSI)
4 GB of DRR2 RAM
625GB Western Digital

My budget is around $300 included new power supply and a new graphics card.

Thinking about a 550Ti or a 6870

If you can help me decide, please post your opinion of these or other cards.

Keep in mind, when I purchase from Denmark where I live, there's a 25% VAT.
