As you can see my processor is not functioning properly? it shows that there are 2 cores with 2 threads instead of 8. I've tried looking in the BIOS for a manual core enabler, but i cannot find one, i have also tried to update the BIOS to a new version in hopes that the current one didn't support the FX line, also didn't work.

Currently using a BIOSTAR TA990FXE with 8 GB of ram 1333Mhz, (1x 8 GB)

Are you reusing a previous install of windows and was that processor a dual core or is this a fresh install?

^Those are great questions. Also check out MSCONFIG.

Go to start and type MSCONFIG into the search and hit enter. Once it opens, go to the Boot tab and click Advanced Options. Make sure there is no check mark on "Number of Processors".

Then restart and see what happens.
