Does anyone know how to have the desktop in XP not show a
background color. On the desktop icons I just want the
text, not a "color" box with text. My desktop was that
way but it changed somehow. The look is similar to the
older windows desktop theme.

Click Start, right click My Computer,
click properties,
click advanced tab,
Under Performance, click Settings button,
Scroll down and click to add a check mark in front of -
Use drop shadows for Icon Labels on the desktop.
Apply and Ok back to the desktop.
You may have to reboot to take effect.
