new 7500 asks for password but won't take password from Verizon

There's wireless encryption, the user setup login and there's the ISP passwords -- presumably the latter.

Push the reset button on the router (usually below a pinhole on the same surface as the ethernet sockets).

Another possible problem is to make changes to the router settings and then just close your browser -- should always log out of the router properly, where that facility is provided.
