I'm building up a new system, and I've decided to either go with slyi'd 560 ti's or cfx'd 6950 sapphire toxic cards , and trying my luck with the bios switch. I will be building this for a 1920 x 1080 monitor, playing bf3 and skyrim.

Which is the best card combo for me?

Comparing a pair of Gigabyte GTX 560 ti's and Gigabyte 6950's you get a price about $400 after MIR for the GTX's and $440 for the AMD's. Their approximate performance is about equal, with maybe a slight edge f=going to AMD in certain games, and Nvidia in others.

I like the Nvidia solution because of the updating of the drivers, but the AMD has its merits too. It is a matter of taste.

6950 toxic has a bios switch (no flashing required) that turns i into a 6970 nothing required but the flip of a switch on the card. Toxic no contest, I might even just look at getting one 6950 toxic and using the 6970 bios (which again is already on the card)

CF and SLI will not likely be needed, If you are favoring Nvidia like rolli said the 570 seems pretty awesome and more affordable than CF or SLI.

If I'm going single card I'm deffinetly going to go for a 580. But the thing is, is that I want max performance out of a 500-550$ gpu budget, upgrade when nvidias kepler or amd's 7000 series come out.

Like I said just before, I do have a budget that I intend to use all of, so I want the best possible performance in gaming. I figure the toxic cards in sli might be the best bang for buck, giving me cfx 6970's for the price of 2 6950's providing it works
