More about smallest practical case
  1. With a full-sized graphics card, most HTPC cases are out of the question. Except maybe the Thermaltake LANbox Lite:

If you are interested in a more conventional case, yet small, the In Win mATX mini towers might be what you are looking for.

I realize these are US links, but maybe you can find them in the UK as well.
  2. a little above your budget but i heard some good things about Fractal Design Arc Mini: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352008
  3. My bad if you aren't in the UK. My address bar showed UK the first time, but not now.

Are you talking about the Lanbox Lite from Newegg? They will accept it back as per their standard return policy: http://www.newegg.com/HelpInfo/ReturnPolicy.aspx#44

I just sold my Lanbox Lite on ebay. I had an HD 6870 and a 550W modular PSU in it along with a mATX board, optical drive, and HDD. The 3 small fans are fairly quiet and move enough air to keep a stock processor cool. The case is so modular, it makes it really easy to assemble. You can find some reviews here:
