Opinions on gaming system build

Hi everyone! Ive had my old PC for 6 years now so I think its time to update haha. Im having a hard time deciding on a 1366 or a 1155. I was set on getting the 1366 but I heard its EOL and may be better for me to get a 1155. If I was to get a 1366 I would get the g1. Guerrilla with the i7 960 3.2 as well with a Geforce 560 ti. For the 1155 I would get an i5 2500k paired with a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3. A 560 ti would also be added. Im looking at building a system that I will get a good couple years out of like my last build. Any thoughts or replacements would be appreciated.

Thanks

  1. It's not even really a choice in terms of price, performance, and upgradeability - you want to go with 1155 and an i5-2500K. The 2500K is a significantly better processor and there will be nothing new to go into 1366 whereas 1155 will run ivy bridge.

  4. For $800-$1000 an i5-2500K and a 560ti (or HD6950) is definitely the way to go. I would look at motherboards like the ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 or the Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3. They're cheaper with the same performance.
  5. Ya i was checking out the z68a. Done and done. Thanks for the input boys
