Up grade motherboard

which motherboard will work in my hp. my old board is a p/n5188-4377 is there a better one i can replce this one with . regards john

Not if you want to use your hp windows installation. Non hp boards require a new windows coa, but many are available on older used cases or partial systems. Check craigslist if you can for windows coa, ram, and boards. Your board uses ddr2, so new boards are getting scarce. I recommend you change the cpu/board/ram and probably the power supply at the same time, since most of those hp systems use a 250w unit. Buying a complete used system may actually be cheaper and come with windows 7.
