My fan spins louder when i open my side panel?

ok this is really weird. not really a problem but idk why this happens. when my case is closed (raidmax smilodon extreme black edition case) the fans spin normaly. when i open the clear side panel they speed up a ridiculous amount. why?

1, Its an audible illusion...

2, Changed the airflow characteristics of the case...
