Wireless connection

Hello,
My laptop is only finding hardware connections and not wireless connections. How do I fix this?

Yes. I already called Belkin, which is where my router is from and although he tried there was nothing he could do, HP advised they could fix the problem for 140.00 in 10 minutes. Please help if you can.
