Hi this the first time I am building a computer and I am having a large amount of difficulties with my ram. The red LED for check ram is on and no matter what I do I cant get it to work I have pressed the MEM OK button that failed after several attempts. My ram should be compatible. I specifically chose ram out of my motherboards manual.I have no idea what is wrong and would greatly appreciate some help.

So how do I update the BIOS?

Download the latest BIOS from ASUS http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/SABERTOOTH_990FX_R20/#support_Download_29
Unzip, rename the file to ST990R20.CAP and save it on a FAT formatted USB stick.
Connect the drive to the Flashback USB port. Make sure that the power supply is connected to the motherboard and is on. No need to start the board.
Press the Flashback button for 3 seconds (a flashing light appears).
Check the manual for the Flashback USB port and the Flashback button.
