amd has yet another 2 cpus in the works coming out soon. the fx4130 and 6130. whyy on earth is this necessary? the 4130 will have a 3.8 ghz clock rate... compared to the 4100 at 3.6. this seems like such a waste especiaally with the 4170 at 4.2ghz. if they tweak the arictecture and made the 4130 a new stepping then i would understand but its the same grid..... seriously considering intel at this point

Thats what it seems like. The first Bulldozers can hardly compete and with out any changes to the IPC I don't see why any one would want to buy the new Bulldozers. It's not going to really be any better. To me it seems like AMD is trying to put perfume on a pile off poo. You can put as much perfume on it as you want but its still a steaming pile of poo. :pfff:

what irritates me the most is that they are releasing absolutely stupid models....whats the use of a 4130 if it has only 4mb L3 and a 125W tag, when u can just slightly bump up the multiplier on the 95W 8MB 4100!! it had better be much cheaper!!
A better model to release would be a 95W 4130 at say 3.4GHZ but costing around $90

They release it to fill in the gaps. They better reduce the price...but I don't think they will. Just look at the 7970...they are still $549+ and 680 is at $499...this is ridiculous. 7970 reference should be at $399, 7950 at $329, 7870 at $269, 7850 at $199, 7770 at $149 ( now it is at 159) and 7750 should be at $99

Now that would be sweet...

I get that, Intel did the same thing with the Sandy Bridges-E but it still seems like a waste. Maybe they should concentrate on fixing the IPC for the Piledriver instead of putting more money into a horrible performing chip.

Most mom and pops have no clue these chips are crap when they buy their HPs and Acers, all they see is lower prices than Intel forthe same speed. Shame on AMD for the mass deception they are perpetrating on the Average Joe Public...

Its not so much a higher SKU count as it is to sell every chip possible. AMD, unlike Intel, seels every CPU even if it has a bad/defective core (or module in this case). Intel on the other hand tends to trash bad/defective cores and only sells one that might not clock as high as lower end CPUs.

Its normal but AMD needs to do it in order to sell more CPUs. Thats why all the Phenom IIs, be it dual, tri or quad core are the exact same CPU just with some disabled cores.

i agree with annoyamous. theres absolutley no point in these cpus you can overclock the 4100 easily to reach that of a 4130 or 4170. theres no need to fill the gap. whats the use of an extra 200 mhz from the 4100.... its more insulting than anything. amd is saying hey this is what were releasing and we dont give a crap if it sucks you should like us just because were amd.... mind you they didnt tweak any of the cpus to fix its bad arcticture... im no intel fan either i have a 4100. i dont want to make the jump to intel just yet i have a feeling piledriver will actually be half decent
