Im trying to build a new PC since the one i have now keeps on turning off on me and my memory is dying im only down to 2GB.

Here is what i was thinking of using

MOBO- ASUS P6X58-E PRO LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
CPU- Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950
RAM- Patriot Viper II ‘Sector 7’ Edition 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model PV7312G2000ELK
HD- OCZ Vertex Turbo 128GB
Power- XION 800 watt power supply.

Can anyone tell me some recommendations on what else i should use maybe?

Thank you :)

I recommend a SandyBridge (LGA 1155) build with a Z68 mobo and a i5 2500K CPU. I suggest a better PSU, and unless you are going to Xfire/SLI here's a list of PSUs to look at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007657%20600014022&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemList=58%7C17%2D151%2D095%5E17%2D151%2D095%2DTS%2C17%2D341%2D051%5E17%2D341%2D051%2DTS%2C17%2D341%2D018%5E17%2D341%2D018%2DTS%2C17%2D371%2D044%5E17%2D371%2D044%2DTS%2C17%2D139%2D020%5E17%2D139%2D020%2DTS
I recommend at least a GTX 560 class GPU (or AMD 6950) if you plan to run games.
Go up to a quality 800W PSU only if you need the power for multiple GPUs.

It seems fine the main thing is I would not bother with the 1336 socket it's a couple generations old at this point. We're going on socket 2011 so 1336 is a couple years old it was 1336, 1156, 1155 and now 2011. I would go with the 1155 or 2011.

What are you doing with this computer. If you're gaming then the I7 isn't worth it. You're spending 100 extra dollars on extra stuff that most games won't use. Most games aren't going to make use of hyper threading or the 2 extra MB's of Cache. If you're using the computer for something that is CPU intensive like video editing or 3d graphic design then having the hyper threading and extra cache could help.

If you want to overclock then I would get a 2500K. The K versions can be heavily overclocked. A non K version really can't be overclocked, not to the same level as an unlocked processor. Asus is good I like both Asus and Gigabyte.

I missed that part. Yes you want to make sure you get a good quality PSU. The PSU is probably one of the most important parts in your computer. If you buy a cheap PSU and it blows (and most of the time it will) not only will you be replacing the PSU but all the hardware it takes with it.
