I currently have 2 9600sgo 512's (:pfff:  Now for the same price i can get either 2 260gtx 216 to run sli or 1 460gtx Money is a huge issue so i do not see a 2nd 460gtx in the future. I plan to play battle field 3 mw3 and skyrim and maintain my 400+fpsin mw1 lol

More about : run 260gtx 216 sli 460gtx

these future games will support and/or require directx11 compatible cards.. the 460 has DX11 ... the 260's do not.

Get a 460 or a 560ti. The 6950 might be overkill with that cpu.

at that resolution the gtx460 will be fine. and it has dx11 support which the 260 doesnt. the 460gtx is much faster than the 550ti

Well, altough Zotac is not bad, the service and warrenty with the Asus is much better. It's only 5 bucks more ( with rebate ) so.

The GTX 460 will not perform as well as a GTX 260 SLI setup, but it has DX11, and you now have a future upgrade path.

These are the games that support dx 11
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_DirectX...
Do you want to sacrifice performance for dx 11?Is it worth it?Then go for 460
If you want superior performance in every game go for 260 SLI.It would actually perform near a gtx 480

In any case you should know that the 460 is not fast enough to run dx 11.Crysis 2 won't run in dx 11 on gtx 460 max.In fact it struggles on max settings dx 9.On that same game 260 SLI would destroy it.Metro 2033?Just forget dx 11.Again 260 SLI would perform better.Only get the 460 if you can SLI it or go for 260 SLI.

But dude seriously, you probly wont even need that much power at that resolution. I have one GTX 260 (not core 216) with a stock speed 2500k and I get highest settings minus filtering and vsync in almost all games at 1080p. If money is such a big deal for you, I dont think you should go overboard for a 1360 x 768 setup.

Just my opinion. Of course, SLIing two 260 216s would be awesome, but you would also need a very powerful PSU, plus later you have the problem of selling 2 old cards, instead of one not so old one.

EDIT: I was too stupid to read that the choice was already made, but oh well, I wasnt advocating buying the SLI setup anyway. :-) Good choice!

Those are very common on eBay right now but if you want to try for something much harder then try a gtx 280 or a gtx 285.

gtx 260 is a very good card.but in truth, its totally outdated. go for geforce gtx 460 1 gb card n u will not be disappointed.dx 11 features will give u more realistic gaming feel as well.nowadays all latest games support dx11 and believe it or not, dx10 cards will also be little to no longer in use by the time 2012 ends.so go for gtx 460 to enjoy latest games and also be "future proof". after that in future, if want to upgrade, sli the card to get kick ass performance.
