Yes, you can use any graphic card (1.1, 2.0 and 2.1) on 2.0 pcie motherboard without problem.
If you use a single card then that card is running on full speed(16x), if you run dual cards then both of cards will run on half of speed (8x) which is not so bad since you will not lost much performance...
