I am planning on building a new computer,My main goal in this new build is to be able to render one hour of high definition video in less of 45 minutes.I have been thinking on building a work station using 2x xeons 5650 processors or maybe one Intel Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition if is enough to achieve my goal.
The software I'm using is the powerdirector 10 64bit- and at this moment it takes me more than 4 hours just to render 1 hour of high definition video on a system with intel core 2 duo e8500.

My budget is $2500 to $4000, any advice will be very helpful.

I record Preachers in my church and the dvd must be ready the same day.

Thanks in advance

Thank for your fast recommendation. Are you sure the recommended specification will render one hour of high definition video in 30mins or 45 mins using powerdirector 9 or 10?

Thanks Sadams04.

I plan to start building this computer first days of JANUARY of 2012.

Actually no I am not sure, but if it won't then it wouldn't be very far behind. The hardware doesn't get much better without spending a lot more money. Dual 5650's would be faster, but the 3930k overclocked safely to 4.5~GHz is a powerhouse as well (at a fourth the cost). 16GB of fast memory is plenty. The SSD has great read / write times, but you could upgrade to something like a RevoDrive for better speeds. You may want to hit the PowerDirectory forums and ask about a GPU. You may get a recommendation for a GTX 580 or other GPU.

Thanks Again for your quick answer.
Let's suppose I give you $4000 to build a fast system. And you have to spent all the $4000 dollar. What system you would build thinking in the goal to render one high definition video in 45 minutes or less.?

Thanks in advance for your answer

Flat out speed....

MB ($325) - GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD5 X79
CPU ($1050) - i7-3960K - Stepped up the CPU simply because of the extra buget.
2 x GPU ($470 after MIR / $940) - ASUS GTX 580 - ..configured to run in SLI. Was going to recommend a Quadro 4000, but it isn't on the list of supported GPUs.
CPU Cooler ($110) - Corsair H100
MEM ($135) - G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series DDR3-1866 CL9 16GB (4x4GB)
OS / Boot HD ($740) - OCZ RevoDrive 3 240GB - PCI-e based storage will give you the best read / write speeds.
Apps / Storage HD ($270) - WD Black 2TB
OPTICAL ($70) - LG Black 12X BD-RW
PSU ($90 after MIR) - XFX Pro850W
CASE ($100) - Antec Nine Hundred
OS ($130) - Windows 7 Pro x64

Thanks again
I will start building my system at the second week of January and I will post the time this machine will make to render one hour of high definition video using PowerDirector 10.

Thank you very much for all your advice.
