Would it be wise to get the i5-2500k CPU on Microcenter.com for $180 and save $40 but buy the rest of the components on newegg.com?

Yes! Yes it would. Sometimes Microcenter runs deal where they combo up the 2500k and certain intel mobo's. Try and snag one of those deals!

Secondly I believe that price is in-store only.

If I buy all the parts on the same day from both sites, will there be any hinderance? Like, will one part arrive way before the other.

If the price is in-store only, I can just drive to the Microcenter and buy the CPU for cheaper.

The Microcenter near DC would match Newegg if you were buying a CPU. You may want to ask your local store.

They did have a special a week ago where u get $50 off motherboard when u buy compatible mobo along with the i5, not sure if its still active.

Also a week after your i5 purchase Microcenter will send you personalized coupons via email for 10-20% off all other PC components. So watch for them. You can get some great deals when you stack the coupons with already sale discounted items.

I got the EVGA GTX 590 Classified Limited Edition from them for $510 using coupons and discounts!(reg$799 at the time) But i got lucky.

Just check after you get the 10-20% off personalized coupons from Microcenter which components come out cheaper. Microcenter you have to add in tax though. But ive found most components you can get cheaper with the personal coupons from Microcenter even with tax inculded, except RAM. Newegg Ram when on sale are hella cheap!
