Question about ram

Hello,
I'm looking to upgrade ram for my computer
and the crucial scan show's my ram as
DDR PC2-5300 my question is is that a fancy way of saying ddr2? because my motherboard specs says it runs dd2

Well it is ddr2. You can simply say that pc2 5300 here represents ram type(DDR type) and ram frequency.
So PC2 5300 means that DDR2 ram with frequency/speed 667MHz
