After graphics ard no connection check for signal cable messae

Hello,
After installing NVIDIA graphics card and when I connecte monitor to vga port and the system in standby mode "no connection. Check for signal cable" message is displayed. System resumes upon pressing any key on the keyboard. After shutting down also this message appears. With onboard video adapter there was no such problem. Is there a solution?

Uninstall previous drivers and uninstall your current GPU (on-board) through Device manager. Make sure you have a firm connection (it isn't loose) and that you have the power cables connected to the GPU.
