WHEN I START THE PC, NO BIOS LOGON REPORT SHOWS UP!
Refurb HP xw4400 2gb Core2 HD DVD ATI to 2/DVI HDMI monitor.

At first, computer booted directly from blank screen into XP, with reseller/refurbisher logo as screen-background.

Windows7 install disc would not respond.

Used Paragon 12 (partition manager) to re-size C: in order to create new partition for new OS. Paragon needed to exit XP to do this. NEVER came back, and NOTHING happens when re-booting (cold or warm).
EXCEPT that keyboard lights flicker, and usually a short beep follows. Then nothing.

Removed battery for overnight, but no detectable change at all.

Can you access your BIOS screen? If so, see what your boot priority is set to. Ensure it is set to your CD drive, then try rebooting with the Windows 7 disc in the drive.

Thank you for the quick response. The whole issue is that there is no BIOS screen, nor does any key (F1, F10, or even F2, F6) give entry..

Mystery solved.
Graphics card with 2 DVI's - one was dead, and the other was working.
