Email with Best Answer topic blank

Here is a Question thread that is marked Solved but has no Best Answer selected:

Any ideas on what's going on there?

Also could it be somehow related to getting THG forum Best Answer notification emails with a blank topic like the one shown here?

I finally got around to wondering about all those 'no-topic' best answer emails I've been getting.

As for your first question, I would say it was most likely the OP edit their original post and changed the title to say [Solved], which is very easy to do. The OP may not be aware or understand how to use the best answer icon on the post throughout the thread.

As for your second question, I have always wondered what those messages were to. My thoughts were they were old "best answers" that the system was catching up with and for what ever reason the post wasn't there. Either that, or it is coming from the UK site, since everything seems to mess up with that site.

I think the 2nd is related to the first. I just recently matched the dates on the last couple of no-topic emails to the first issue dates as well.
I found one example where I was the only other person posting in the thread.

The OP had just edited the title rather than award a best answer, if you see or know of any others then post a link or PM me and I'll change them.

Tonight's inbound mail matched up which topic is associated with the emailed best answer with the blank topic.

I'll let the UK guys know that there are blank notification emails floating about for solved questions.
