Can this PSU run two GTX 580's or 3 570's?
RAIDMAX RX-1000AE 1000W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Or should i upgrade to
RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

That's a great psu, but the 2yr warranty would scare me into another brand.

If your buying a gold rated 1000w psu and it does not have a 5yr warranty, don't buy it. If your going cheap, make sure it at least has a 3yr warranty.

I would suggest a silver over gold if it has a better warranty.

Have you owned any Raidmax power supplys?

I have heard/read lots of bad things about them.

Take a look at the review from Hard OCP
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/02/23/raidmax_rx1000ae_1000w_power_supply_review/1

If you flip to the load testing at 120 V page you will see its efficiency is so bad it shouldn't even have 80+ bronze so they may have sent in a different platform to get the rating but the one that they are actually selling is not gold level, and the 2 year warranty is really sad. A power supply that doesn't find an early death in the first six months should live for a good 5-10 years, so if they are only willing to do a 2 year warranty im suspicious.

For similar capacity and similar price i would go for the HCG 900

Yeah this is a great power supply, though the HX850 is slightly better, its modular and has a silver 80 plus rating.

Knowledge is power and you'll need a lot for 2x GTX 580 or 3x GTX 570. ;)

You can accurately determine what PSU power is required in watts and amps. on the 12v rail from the link below. It's straight forward and easy so no guessing is required. Then you will have an idea if you are maxing out your PSU. It will also show you how to determine which model PSUs are quality PSUs that can deliver the necessary power for your PC if you need a new one.

doesnt the Power consumption vary though depending on other system specs? Like im going to be running it with 1x SSD, 1xSATA HDD, 1xOptical Drive, i72600k@4.0Ghz+,8gb of ram,i think 4 case fans and a liquid coolant for CPU.The reccomended PSU power i need for all of that according to
extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp is 679 watts. So i think i should be good. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
