Cannot download anything on my laptop.

Hi,
I recently tried downloading iTunes as I accidently deleted it. But when I tried I got a message telling me that I can't download it because the content of the folder cannot be changed. I thought this was a probably with iTunes so I went to download something else. And I still got that message. I searched the net for answer, I found one telling me that I had to untick the "Read-Only" box, so I tried but the box wasnt ticked. So then I tried ticking it then un-ticking it, but I still have this problem.

HELP!

What browser are you using? Was this an upgrade to windows 7 from a previous version, a clean install, or just a factory install of windows 7?

Also, are you admin on the computer?

I'm using firefox. And I'm not really sure, I bought this laptop from somebody else, but when I bought it it was downloading perfectly. And Yes, I am admin.

I just realised something, I can somehow download from Internet Explorer.

What folder is Firefox downloading to?

Try changing Firefox's download path to the desktop.

Firefox will download files to the download folder on windows 7. When the box pops up showing the file status you can right click on it and choose the option to open the folder that the download file resides in. This will automatically open the windows 7 download folder.

I have, yet I still get the message.

Yes! It works now, I reset my download folder.
