I'm building a new pc for when Guild Wars 2 comes out.
I want to play GW2 on highest possible settings, so what processor should I take;

Intel Core i7 2600k
or
AMD FX-8150

I'm using it with 2xGTX 680 SLI and 16GB 1600Mhz
Both of them would get Water cooled..
But which one will perform better in future games. I'm not sure how many cores Guildwars 2 would use, and everything.. And what Speed would u recommend with overclocking with Watercooling?

Hello,

For a setup like that I would drop down to a I5 2550k. The extra threads are pretty useles for gaming right now.

The i5 2550K starts at 3.4Ghz and should reach 4-4.2Ghz on air with a good cooler like the hyper 212+.

Hello kemperkipie;

For 2x GTX 680 SLI you definitely want Core i7 2600k

CPU benchmark comparison:
AMD FX-8150 - 3.6GHz vs Intel Core i7 2600K - 3.4GHz

When overclocking let the CPU temps and system stability help you figure out the best performance settings.

i5-2500k is going to save you a nice chuck of cash and perform about the same as the i7.

Either way though, SandyBridge is currently the Processor of choice vs. AMD

2600k, how much money do you want to drop on watercooling? Are you going to watercool your gtx 680s later on?
