Dual Monitor capability with integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000

Thinking of buying Dell Inspiron 620 desktop that has integrated card. I am getting conflicting info from Dell support regarding its ability to support two monitors.
It looks like it has 2 outputs: VGA and HDMI. So does it mean I will be able to connect my monitor to VGA out and my TV to HDMI out and run them as two separate monitors?

  1. The 2 different connectors are for an either - or selection. Not for a combination of two displays.
  2. I just tested a dell optiplex 390 with the intel 2000 integrated graphics with both an HDMI output to DVI-D converter and VGA outputs. I ran both monitors with no problems. The HDMI looked a bit better but both ran smoothly. Next I am going to test that both outputs will support dual monitors. I heard that the card will support 3.
  3. what drivers did you use? i am unable to get two digital (hdmi and dvi) outputs at the same time. i know it has to work, because when i upgrade or down grade the drivers, it will work perfectly, but the system needs a reboot and after that, it wont work.
  4. Did you get the output to work on all 3?
