Memory selection dilemma for vostro1510

Hello,
i have got dell vostro 1510, with intel gm 965 main board, 800 mhz fsb and 2*1gb ddr2 ram @ 667 Mhz, can i upgrade it to ram with speed @ 800 Mhz ? will it increase some speed?

Yes you can upgrade to 800MHz DDR2 ram. And yes it will increase the speed if the timings of the 667MHz and the timings of 800MHz cards are the same.

bt as i have read somewhere , my new ram (800mhz ) will also be functioning at 667 mhz, i.e at speed of the slower one. like right now exact speed pf ram is 337 mhz, so i wanna know that if new ram can function @400 mhz, or 800 Mhz fsb is a problem ?
