I3 2120 vs Phenom x4 975 BE

So I've heard that the i3 2120 is better at gaming than the AMD Phenom x4 975, but when I run benchmarks on anandtech.com, it says that the AMD is better.

Which one do I choose? Anyone able to help from user experience?

I do not own either CPU, but I would not be surprised if i3 2120 would yield better performance than Phenom x4 as most games at this point are optimized to dual core processor.

As more and more games begin to utilize 4 cores, you'll see Phenom x4 dominating.

By the way, Phenom, as far as I know has unlocked multiplier, so you can potentially overclock it in the future were as i3 2120 is locked and what you see is what you get.

Have to agree with Maksym. I have a 955BE and an I3 2100 and ingames the 955 seems to edge out the I3 just a little
