Current PSU: Antec EarthWatts 500w

I'd certainly like to overclock the 960T to 4.0ghz or so and attempt an unlock to five or six cores. I'd also like to unlock shaders on and overclock the 6950. I'm not hopeful that the current PSU will work so here's a potential replacement which I do have the budget for:

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W

I'll of course take other recommendations and general advice. This is a gaming PC intended for 1920x1080 resolution. What could I expect if I choose a 6870 over a 6950 in the next year or so? Is an SSD really worth it?

Thank you for reading all that!

easy answer: yes.

The link you provided has the antec as deactivated so are you ordering from a different place? I prefer corsair for their single 12V line as it will provide more amps than antec who likes to split the amps along 2-4 12V lines.

Apologies for the confusion; I already own the Antec.

So if it turns out that it can't handle the overclocking, the PSU will just shut off, correct? And then I'll know...
