Hello,
I recently brought a gaming pc, it was at the time for casual gaming but now I'd like to kick it up a few notches.
Originally, it had:
AMD athlon ii x2
ASRock N68C-S-UCC AM2/AM3
ATI Radeon HD 5400 Series
4 Gig ram
and a 450 PSU with the model number AD-F480A2-36

I have recently upgraded the cpu to an amd phenom ii x6 1055, but I am not really sure how much more it can take, I don't want to risk making it fry, so can anyone shead any light on how it would handle a hardcore graphics card and a ram upgrade (also which to pick really) or before doing this would I need to upgrade the psu and or motherboard?

Thank you!
- Baigo

I don't know about adyson psu so I can't comment on it, but what is your budget for a card? My suggestion based off the rest of your computer would be something like a 6770 or 6790. Assuming your psu is 450W with a decent amperage on the 12V line you should be fine with one of those cards. Having more than 4GB of RAM won't do anything for you.

I haven't really set a budget to be honest, I want the PC to eat nails, but I am not sure where to draw the line with it, I am cautious of the PSU, so do you think that graphics card would be ok with my current Specs? Thank you for your time

How old is the psu? Like I said it should be fine but I don't know the psu or the brand to say get a new one. Worse case you buy a card and find you need a new psu or it works and you live happily ever after.

I only brought the pc a few months ago, if it were to go bad, would I smell burning, or would something blow? I am not really sure what to expect.
Thank you
