APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Depends on how much of a price drop i can expect on current radeon cards when the 7000 series comes out (if little to none then purchase in the next 2 weeks, if anyone has an idea what kind of price drop to expect, and if it might be worth it to wait then i will) BUDGET RANGE: <$200 USD

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming (I would like to be able to truly appreciate Skyrim eventually)

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: GPU: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT Power Supply: Dell L375p-00 375w (probably up this soon as well, a decent package deal and i might be able to step over my 200$ limit

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz, Intel DX38BT, 3GB RAM

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Continental US shipping only

PARTS PREFERENCES: none, although i have been looking quite fondly at the HD 6870

OVERCLOCKING: No SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Not anytime soon

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1280x1024/1440x900

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: with my stock Dell XPS 420, is it even worth upgrading?, or should i hold out for a while and just do a $500 gaming build next quarter?

the q6600 is still quite a good performer.

the thing holding you back at the moment is the PSU. some of one of the most reccomended cards are the 6870 or 6950's or the GTX 570 or 560TI

$150-220

these require a PSU of generally 500w+
