Are AMD APUs usable in a laptop with an Intel Processor?

HI,

currently i have an HP G62 with an Intel Core i5 Processor. My question is, if i buy a AMD APU, is it possible to install it on my current laptop?

I understand that on desktops, there are different sockets for Intel and AMD cpus, i am wondering if the same applies to laptops.

THanks

  1. Yes, the same applies whether its desktop, laptop, notebook or netbook, you can't put Amd into Intel Mobo's or vice versa
    Moto
  2. You could look into selling your HP G62 and getting yourself a Llano laptop.
  3. If you have a Socket 7 laptop, then you can remove an Intel chip and install an AMD, but your laptop was more than likely produced post 1999...
