Hello,
has anyone removed the USB to floppy interface from an external USB connected floppy drive snd used it to make an "internal floppy drive" ? this could be a solution to building a brand new system with no floppy interface on its motherboard

Why would you want to have an FDD in your new build?
You know you can do whatever you used to do with the FDD with a usb now.

Yeah, except for holdin 1.44 MB on a floppy you can get 16GB on a USB drive for $12.
And if I'm not using the USB drive for swapping files I use it as a RAMDISK.

Why would you want to? FDDs have, generally, gone the way of the dodo.
