Internet Explorer: Maximizing window for new links

Two questions about Internet Explorer:

1) When I right click a link and open it in a new window, it is never maximized. This is very annoying when I open several different links in different windows, having to maximize each one manually. Can I change the default size to be maximized always?
2) When I open a new blank window, it goes to the URL of the current page. Can I default new windows to be blank?

I imagine there are registry settings for these changes, but after looking, I didn't see anything obvious to change in it. THANKS!!

You might find what you are looking for on this page:

One method you can use to force web documents to always load maximized is to make shortcuts of your favorite bookmarks (or all of them), put them in a folder, and place the folder somewhere with convenient access, like on your Start button, or on the toolbar. You can set the properties of each shortcut to run in a Normal window.

Here's the Registry path for running in full screen mode:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software//Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Main/Full Screen.

It's either yes or no, under DATA.

I'm not exactly sure about how to open the new, blank windows. But there's probably a workaround. Generally, when I open a new window, it's by opening an entirely new instance of Internet Explorer, which by default, goes to my home page. I have a shortcut to the browser on the Quick Launch part of the toolbar, and I use this to open new windows, instead of going to File/New/Window.

You could type a nonsense address in the browser address bar and bookmark it. (Such as "about:" - no quotes.) This would open a window that was basically blank. By giving the Favorite a name that started with "A" or a "1", right-clicking on the browser window, and creating a shortcut for it on the desktop, you could drag it to the toolbar (or again, another accessible location) and use this to open new windows.

You could also point the address to a specific folder on the hard drive, such as the path to your Favorites, and place this on the toolbar or Start button. Then when you clicked it, it would open up a new instance of IE, but with no URL in the address bar. I've used this before as my Home Page. This can be nice for opening up IE before you are online, and choosing a specific link, without being forced to load an online webpage each time you start the browser.

I don't know if any of this will be helpful, but that's a few thoughts on the subject! ;-)
